I thoroughly enjoy talking to children in years 4 to 7 about writing – since my first novel was published I’ve visited many schools in Essex, London, Kent, Yorkshire, Herts and Lincolnshire, and have appeared at the Haringey Children’s Book Festival and Fife Libraries Children’s Book Festival in St Andrews. My events include a chat about reading and writing, a reading from one of my novels, a fun interactive game (which the children LOVE!) and a Q&A session.
I also run creative writing events that cover anything from composing sparky dialogue to inventing dazzling characters. Day-long workshops that aim to bring out the flair in more able writers is a speciality. I’ll work with groups of any size and am happy to stay all day and mix workshops with talks.
