Yesterday I visited Cherry Tree Primary in Basildon, Essex.
What a day! A book event, three writing workshops and a reading of Little Red Riding Hood to the little ones in the nursery. I don’t know what I enjoyed the most – seeing the faces of the nursery children as I growled the Big Bad Wolf’s words, or hearing the utterly fantastic work produced by children in the characterisation workshops. After my reading from Edwin Spencer Mission Improbable, I was also AMAZED at the number of ideas KS2 gave on what Edwin would think next!
Thank you so much to Miss Mills and everyone for such a warm welcome. And I do hope everyone in Year 6 goes on to great things at senior school.
Enjoy the summer! x
